Welcome Message from President of ICSD
With great excitement, I extend my warm greetings to all participating athletes, coaches and officials to the 2008 World Deaf Table Tennis Championships in Sofia.

This prestigious event is under the auspices of International Committee of Sports for the Deaf, built on 80+ years of tradition.  We are the 2nd oldest multi-sport event on earth.  We value and appreciate the support received from the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee.

On behalf of the ICSD, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the Bulgarian Deaf Sports Federation under the leadership of Mr. Nikolay Nikolov for showing a deep commitment in continuing our long and proud history in deaf sports by hosting a world-class sporting event for deaf athletes from nearly 100 nations.

May the best players and team win through fair play in a drug-free sport environment!
